The Plowboys welcomed the Ganymedes from Oregon, IL this past Saturday hoping to continue the momentum from their home opening win last week against the Elk Grove Bucks.  The Game started on a positive note for the Plowboy with them winning the “long toss” and electing to let the Ganymedes have the first at bat. The game went scoreless until the 4^th inning when the Ganymedes pushed across two runs, then added another in the 5^th and three more in the 6^th for a 6 to 0 advantage.  The Plowboys bats woke up in the 6^th as they plated a run and then added three more in the 7^th on runs scored by Steve “Ironhead” South, Dave “Eyes” Selke and Frank “Ice House” Bellino.  Things were looking up again in the 8^th as the Plowboys scored another on the fleet feet of Captain Antonio “ JackRabbit” Bellino, although some tremendous defense by the Ganymedes thwarted the rally.  The Plowboys sent the Ganymedes down 1-2-3 in the top of the 9^th then brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the frame, but could not plate the ace and took the defeat 7 to 5.  The Plowboys would like to invite everyone out to the next home game on 7/29 vs. their rivals from the north the Midway Village Marauders from Rockford.  Special thanks to all who came out to support the Plowboys and the Oregon Ganymedes for a well played match.
