In the spirit of Downers Grove’s Heritage Festival celebration, the Downers Grove Plowboys will host the 3rd annual “Plowboy Classic” Vintage base ball tournament June 28-29. Six Vintage Clubs from Illinois & Indiana will join the Plowboys for two days of base ball matches on the field between Herrick Middle School and DG North. Scheduled opponents: Oregon Ganymedes - Somonauk Blue Stocking - Deep River Grinders - Lockport Sleepers - Creston Regulators - Midway Marauders. The Plowboys are a living history program of the DG Park District Museum and re-create base ball matches by the original rules of base ball from 1858.Come re-live the past of Downers Grove and enjoy the fast-paced action of bare knuckle base ball.
