In the spirit of Downers Grove’s summer celebrations, the Downers Grove Plowboys will host the 5th annual “Plowboy Classic” Vintage Base Ball tournament Saturday July 10th, 2010. Festivities will begin promptly at 12 noon as area Vintage Clubs will join the Plowboys for a grand day of base ball matches on the diamond in Downers Grove. Scheduled opponents: Creston Regulators - Chicago Salmon - Lockport Sleepers. The Plowboys are a living history program of the DG Park District Museum and re-create base ball matches by the original rules of base ball from 1858.Come re-live the past of Downers Grove and enjoy the fast-paced action of bare knuckle base ball.
